Brucellosis
Description
Brucellosis, also known as undulant fever, is a bacterial infection caused by the genus Brucella, which is typically transmitted from animals to humans. It often affects those working with livestock, such as farmers and veterinarians. Symptoms include fever, joint pain, fatigue, and muscle aches. The infection can become chronic if untreated and lead to complications such as arthritis or endocarditis. Antibiotics are used to treat brucellosis, and in some cases, prolonged therapy may be necessary to prevent relapse.
