Rosemary is a passionate young lady who has been in love with medicine since her childhood. She specifically mentions that her desire of making a meaningful contribution to the well- being of patients and restoring their smiles, significantly influenced her to pursue Perioperative Theatre Technology. Explaining the essence of the course, she says, "This program basically covers matters concerning the theatre. This is preparing the patient before and after surgery, equipment sterilization and the maintenance of a sterile operating room.”

Rose chose Kijabe College of Health Sciences (KCHS) because of its outstanding reputation and academic excellence associated with it. In addition, one of her mentors was a nurse here and that made KCHS a dream school for her. She recounted one particular memorable moment when she and her friends encountered a patient who was so ill that he struggled to move. They offered support and took him to the doctor, “After he was attended to, he recovered and discharged. To me, that was such an impactful experience!”Rose shares.

“One of my highlights since I joined KCHS is that I can now interact with people easily and make friends. Initially I was very shy!” she says, chuckling. Rose describes her classmates and tutors as charismatic because of their good and approachable nature that makes them easy to get along with.

Rose stands out at KCHS as she is the only one in a turban. However, she emphasizes that this difference has posed no challenge for her. The Christian beliefs practiced here align seamlessly with her own, fostering a sense of harmony and understanding.

"My parents have consistently been my foremost supporters, encouraging me to stay on the right path. Their unwavering support keeps me motivated, allowing me to face challenges head on," Rose concluded.
