Lung Cancer
Description
Lung cancer is one of the most common and deadliest forms of cancer, originating in the lungs. It is most often caused by smoking, though exposure to secondhand smoke, radon, asbestos, and other environmental factors can also increase the risk. Symptoms of lung cancer include persistent cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, coughing up blood, and weight loss. There are two main types: non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), with NSCLC being the most common. Treatment options depend on the stage and type of cancer and can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. Early detection significantly improves prognosis.
