What is the cost for an outpatient visit?

430 ksh for a new patient and 330 ksh for a returning patient.  Many conditions require lab work or x-ray/ultrasound.  Please be prepared to pay up to 3000 ksh for necessary tests and medicines.

Do you accept NHIF/Insurance Cards?

Yes, NHIF pays ___ for inpatient stay, _____ for surgery, _______ for delivery.

What is the cost for a delivery?

Normal delivery ranges between KES 15, 000-20,000
Caesarian Section (CS) is KES 50,000 when there are no complications.
NHIF covers about KES 6,000 in a normal delivery and KES 18,000 in a CS delivery.

When are specialty clinics offered?

Dental, Ear-Nose-Throat, Audiology, Eye, and Diabetic clinics are offered on weekdays.

Surgery clinics are scheduled after consultation with a doctor in outpatient department and are as follows:

General Surgery clinic on Monday/Thursday

Pediatric Surgery clinic on Tuesday

Pediatric Neurosurgery clinic on Wednesday

Orthopedic Surgery clinic on Tuesday/Wednesday

Plastics/Reconstructive Surgery clinic on Tuesday

Gynecology clinic on Friday

Where is Kijabe?

1 hour’s drive north of Nairobi on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway A-104 with a turn-off at Gichengo.  Kijabe-line matatus are boarded at the Koja round-about.

General Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery
