KIJABE COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Kenya Registered Clinical Medicine and Surgery (KRCMS – Basic) 3 years Diploma in Clinical Medicine.

Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN – Basic) 31/2 years Diploma in nursing.

Diploma in Community Health  – 2 years.

Kenya Registered Nurse Anesthetist (KRNA) 1 year and 6 months inclusive of internship.

Kenya Registered Perioperative Nursing (KRPON) 1 year Diploma in Peri-operative nursing.

General Surgery:

A fully supervised Residency Training Program in General Surgery with training which culminates in certification by the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) after five years.  The Kenyan Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board recognizes our graduates as specialist General Surgeons.  All of our trainees are graduates of accredited African medical schools and are committed to prayerfully serving in Africa, among people who might otherwise have no access to quality surgical care.  More information about our General Surgical training program can be found at www.paacs.net

Orthopaedic Surgery:

A fully certified Residency Training Program in Orthopedic Surgery with training which culminates in certification by the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa after five years.  The Kenyan Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board recognizes our graduates as specialist Orthopedic Surgeons.

Family Medicine Residency:

In partnership with Cabarak University, we are excited to welcome the first class of Family Medicine Residents in 2016.

Kijabe Hospital offers East Africa’s first formal training program in pediatric surgery.  This 3-year, fellowship level program is accredited by the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA) and recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya.  The program is run via a partnership between Kijabe Hospital and BethanyKids of Kijabe Hospital under the auspices of the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS).  The program typically accepts physicians trained in general surgery for a 3-year training track, though there is a 5-year training track for graduates of African medical schools after medical officer training.

Medical Officer and Clinical Officer internships are available yearly at AIC Kijabe Hospital.
